Although Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was to meet with US State Secretary Mike Pompeo along with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, he was not present at yesterday’s meeting.

No reason was given for his absence even though in the itinerary released prior to Pompeo’s visit, he was scheduled to meet with the Prime Minister too during his short stay here.
