Former SriLankan executive dies in apparent suicide

Rajeewa Jayaweera, a regular newspaper columnist and a former SriLankan Airlines executive died yesterday in an apparent suicide.

His body was found at Independence Square yesterday morning by Police. They also found a pistol near his body. Police said a suicide note addressed to a relative was also found.

Jayaweera (64) is the son of well-known foreign service officer late Stanley Jayaweera.
