Finance Ministry calls for public proposals for 2019 Budget

The Finance Ministry is now seeking contributions from all stakeholders and professional bodies to compile a Budget proposal that reflects people’s concerns, which will be presented to the Parliament next month.

Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera will present the Budget proposal for year 2019 on 5 November on the theme ‘A strong economy and a prosperous nation’.

The Ministry extended an invitation to individuals, professionals, academia and all other industries to provide their suggestions for the 2019 Budget proposal on or before 12 October.

The suggestions can be sent to Director General, Department of Trade and Investment Policy, Ministry of Finance and Mass Media Secretariat, Colombo 1 or via email [email protected].
