Experienced and versatile business professional Dinal Peiris was appointed as the Chairman of Lanka Aluminium Industries PLC, Sri Lanka’s premier manufacturer of high quality aluminium extrusions for high-rise buildings and other applications, where he has held the position of Managing Director since 1999. 

Under his direction, Lanka Aluminium has grown and diversified into many related businesses and is undoubtedly the most innovative and technically competent company with in-house ability for high tech applications. 

Peiris obtained his B. Sc. (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The City University, London and his MBA from the prestigious London Business School. He is an associate member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, UK.

Peiris joined the Sri Lankan operations/investments of Geneva-based management and investment company Comcraft Group in 1989 which is the major shareholder of Lanka Aluminium Industries PLC. He plays a lead role in the diversification of the Comcraft Group businesses in the country. Whilst working with Comcraft, Peiris has acquired a wide range of knowledge in aluminium, steel, textiles, plastics and wood products industries including setting up business ventures in Sri Lanka, India, Vietnam and Kenya. 

In addition to his role at Lanka Aluminium Industries PLC, Peiris is the Chairman of Merbok MDF Lanka Ltd., Comark Engineers Ltd., Marshall Investments Ltd. and Almeco Ltd., and Managing Director of Texpro Industries Ltd.

Peiris is a Non-Executive Director of several companies including Omega Line Group, CIC Agri Businesses Ltd. (where he represents the interests of the Comcraft Group), Metecno Lanka Ltd. and Equity Investments Ltd.

Peiris is also a Director of the Employees Trust Fund Board (ETFB) and a Council Member of the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC).
