Dhammika’s Hayleys nets Innovative Exporter of the Year

• Accolade for Hayleys Group subsidiary Haycarb’s material for super-capacitor for Tesla

Hayleys Group, controlled by business leader Dhammika Perera, won the important Innovative Export Product of the Year at the prestigious Presidential Export Awards 2018/19, presented yesterday.

The accolade was awarded to Hayleys subsidiary Haycarb PLC for supplying material for super-capacitor or Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) coconut carbon to world-famous electric car manufacturer Tesla.

This carbon is used as both anode and cathode carbon material in super-capacitors. Haycarb also won the Organic Product Exporter of the Year, whilst Hayleys Group won three other awards as well.
