The Board of Directors of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has made a decision to change the tick size applicable to equity securities traded on the Automated Trading System (ATS).

The necessary rule changes have been carried out by the CSE to facilitate this change with the approval of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC).

The tick change that will take effect has been set out as follows:

Value of share (Rs.) equal to and less than 100: Tick size (Rs.) 0.10.

Value of share (Rs.) more than 100: Tick size (Rs.) 0.25.

The change to the tick size will be in effect at the open of trading from today (8 January).

In order to facilitate this change, the CSE will cancel all pending orders in the ATS as at end of trading on 7 January. Additionally, the open auction call on 8 January has been extended from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. in order to provide adequate time for orders to be placed on the system.
