Trevin Fernandopulle joins Continental Insurance Board

Professional banker and business leader, Trevin Fernandopulle, has been appointed Independent Non-Executive Director at Sri Lanka’s fastest growing insurer, Continental Insurance Lanka Ltd.

Fernandopulle brings with him 42 years of executive experience, including 30 years of service at HSBC here in Sri Lanka and overseas. He retired from HSBC Sri Lanka as its Deputy CEO in 2008. Thereon, Fernandopulle took over as Group Chief Risk Officer at Bank of Ceylon up until 2012, before moving on to DFCC Bank as its Chief Risk Officer/Executive Vice President until 2016.

This lends testimony to the astute management and direction of Continental Insurance, and I look forward to working together with my fellow members of the Board and Management sharing my insights and experience to steer the Company to much greater heights both here and in the region,” Fernandopulle states. 

In addition to the above, Trevin Fernandopulle is a Director at Union Bank since 2017, and that same year he was appointed Director at Dutch Lanka Trailer Manufacturers. He is the Chairman of AMW Capital Leasing and Finance PLC and was a Director National Insurance Trust fund until Jan 2020. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Joseph Frazer Memorial Hospital in Colombo. He is a Past President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers London.
