Seylan Tikiri, the most trusted minor savings account, celebrated the month of Sinhala and Tamil New Year with a thrilling promotion by offering Tikiri children the opportunity to grab their favourite gifts through the bank’s branch network.

Conducted for the eighth consecutive year, the Tikiri promotion was devised in keeping with the traditional age-old spirit of Ganu-Denu. All Tikiri holders were invited from across the island to deposit their ‘Avurudu Ganu-Denu’ to their existing and new accounts from 1 April to 31 May and walk away with exciting gifts upfront. Tikiri accountholders can become eligible to obtain 10 exciting gifts by simply depositing Rs. 100, 000 to a new or existing account.

Launched in 1991, Seylan Tikiri has pioneered many industry firsts and novelties, and is evolving rapidly with innovative services to cater to the varying needs of its expansive customer base. Since its inception, Seylan Tikiri has enthralled thousands of Tikiri accountholders by becoming the brand that has not only offered unique financial solutions but also adding value by instilling the habit of savings along with other teachings in self-development and social skills.

Commenting on this campaign, Seylan Bank Head of Sales and Marketing Gamika de Silva said, “As the most loved and trusted minor savings brand, Seylan Tikiri has revolutionised the minor savings account and continues to set new trends in the banking sector. Over the years, Tikiri has earned the credibility of parents due to its unique value offerings that goes beyond just banking operations. Becoming a good saver is a learned behaviour. Learning to defer gratification from an early age will have immense implications later in life. The earlier your child understands this concept, the more time they will have to practice and experience just how great it is to reach their goals. As the bank with a heart, Seylan Bank encourages all parents to gift a ‘Tikiri’ account to their beloved children in order to inculcate the habit of saving in them from an early age. The Seylan Tikiri ‘Avurudu Ganu-Denu’ campaign’s prime objective is to create and strengthen the cultural bond among communities with the Avurudu festival and enhance the habit of saving among children.”
