Sampath Bank promotes children’s savings account

With an aim to promote saving among the young generation, Sampath Bank has introduced a new gift voucher scheme called ‘One to One’. These gift vouchers will benefit the new and existing account holders of Sampath Bank’s children’s savings accounts –Pubudu and Sapiri, and can be processed at any Sampath Bank branch island-wide. 

Sampath Bank’s ‘One to One’ gift voucher scheme aims to drive the bank’s objective of encouraging and inculcating the habit of saving among children. When a customer produces the ‘One to One’ gift voucher to the counter at the time of making a deposit to Pubudu or Sapiri account, the bank will add the same amount as the deposit and credit the total amount to the child’s account. 

Elaborating on Sampath Bank’s ‘One to One’ gift voucher scheme, 

Sampath Bank PLC Deputy General Manager – Deposit Mobilisation Sanath Abhayaratne noted: “‘One to One’gift voucher will double the deposit of your child’s account. For example, if you deposit Rs. 5,000to Pubudu or Sapiri savings account along with a ‘One to One’gift voucher, Rs. 10,000will be credited toyour child’s account. The gift voucher allows the deposit amount to be doubled up to a maximum of Rs. 10,000. ‘One to One’ gift vouchers will not only help your child to become interested in the habit of saving, but will also make them feel elated to watch the rapid growth of their saving. As a bank we are happy to steer this scheme with the aim of building a financially stable future for every child in the country.”

Sampath Bank offers two children’s saving accounts namely Pubudu and Sapiri. Pubudu Children’s savings account offers a wide array of attractive gifts while Sapiri children’s savings account offers high interest rates and stands as a valuable investment account for the young savers. 

Sampath Pubudu or Sapiri accounts can be opened with a minimum deposit of Rs. 500 and as the balance continues to grow, the child will be rewarded with respective gifts starting from a till, schoolbag, mountain bikesand home theatre systems toeven wide screen LED TV.  The top depositors of the year are also eligible to win tours to Singapore accompanied by a parent. In addition, Grade 5 scholarships will be awarded based on the ranking of the top achievers among account holders.
