Ramesh Schaffter reappointed to Orient Finance Board

With over two decades’ experience in finance & marketing, in addition to serving on the Boards of several public listed and unlisted companies, Ramesh Schaffter has been reappointed to the Board of Orient Finance PLC. 

He is a Fellow and former Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Sri Lanka Division, as well as an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He has also served as Secretary to the Board of Janashakthi Insurance since its inception in 1994. He was appointed to the Board of Janashakthi Insurance in 2004. 

Ramesh Schaffter is a versatile personality and accomplished public speaker who has won several awards at national and international level at Toastmasters’ contests. With a passion for serving people, he functions as the President of Habitat for Humanity, Sri Lanka (an NGO engaged in providing housing for low-income families), in addition to serving on the Board of World Vision, Sri Lanka. He is the founder of Swarga TV and Swargam TV, which function on a cable TV platform, as well as Christian Arts Foundation (Chraft), which focuses on promoting music and drama.

Orient Finance is a registered Finance Company under the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and is engaged in accepting fixed deposits, in addition to offering a diverse range of financial products and services. The reappointment of Ramesh Shafter to the Board of Orient Finance will enable the Company to pursue its objectives with renewed vigour.
