Nishantha appointed CEO of People’s Merchant Finance

People’s Merchant Finance Plc has announced the appointment of Udeni Nishantha Gunasekera as the new CEO in place of acting CEO K. Sanjeewa Bandaranaike.

Gunasekera currently functions as a Senior Consultant/Director at Emsolv Consultants and also serves as a Director at Hiplas Lanka Ltd. He is currently the Chairman of the Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni Association. He was a Non-Executive Non Independent Director of People’s Merchant Finance Plc and Director of Sadaharitha Plantations Ltd.

He has over 24 years of experience in banking and finance and in the corporate sector with over 10 years experience holding corporate management positions and above. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the PIM, Associatship in Banking from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL), a Diploma in Banking and Finance from IBSL and IFS School of Finance (UK), Certificate in Bank Compliance and Regulations from IBSL and also an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from the CIMA, UK.
