Metropolitan Computers Ltd. partnered with People’s Micro Commerce Ltd. recently to support small and medium enterprises in Sri Lanka to offer micro credit facilities to purchase essential workplace solutions.

With funding for essential workplace overheads and equipment expenses being a big drain on startup companies and SMEs, this tie up will enable SMEs access to funding at a concessionary rate and funds made available within 24 hours which would boost SME and start up business activities.

“We will be offering SME customers a concessionary rate for purchasing their workplace solutions through Metropolitan,” said People’s Leasing and Finance PLC Deputy General Manager – Marketing Laksanda Gunawardena.

The SME sector is one of Sri Lanka’s fastest growing sectors with more than 50% employment generated through SMEs according to analysts. The increasing demand in the sector is often not met due to limited funding capabilities of the SMEs in advanced technology products and services. This initiative will help SMEs to purchase a range of items from Metropolitan’s full range of computing, printing, air conditioning, standby power generators, CCTV systems, point of sale units, plotters, copiers and even digital cameras mobile phones.

“Metropolitan is the only specialist workplace solutions company in Sri Lanka providing the full range of products from IT, to printing, to power and energy and so on. So we are happy to extend our range of products to the SME sector which can benefit from this partnership with Micro Commerce,” said Metropolitan Computers Ltd. Head of Retail and SME Shamaz Hossen.

This special funding for the SME and startup companies are available throughout Sri Lanka at the M centre branches and supported by 35 People’s Micro Commerce offices island-wide.

All Metropolitan products come with warranty and after sales service promise of over 60 years industry trust of Metropolitan. Metropolitan Computers is a subsidiary of Metropolitan Holdings which is a diversified conglomerate with companies offering sophisticated and simple engineering, communications, IT and imaging solutions.
