Mahinda Saliya new Chairman at RDB

RDB Chairman Mahinda Saliya assumes duties

Mahinda Saliya has been appointed Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sanwardana Bank (RDB) with effect from 1 January.

Saliya holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Special) degree from the University of Kelaniya. He is well experienced in matters of Fiscal Policy, Government Finance, Statistics and the preparation of the Annual State Budget.

He has been employed in the State sector for 34 years, during which he has worked at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) in the capacity of a Senior Assistant Director and a Regional Manager. He also served as the Deputy Director and Director Budget, as well as Additional Director General of State Accounts at the General Treasury. He has also been a board member of several Government institutions as a representative of the Treasury.

The Rajarata Development Bank, Kotelawala Defence University, Defence Service Command and the Staff College, Rakna Lanka Arakshaka Ltd., Land Reclamation and Development Corporation, Tower Hall Theatre Foundation and Selacine Television Institute are some of the State institutions on whose boards Saliya has served as a director.
