Starting its journey in 1971, LB Finance PLC has continued to strive towards success by bringing up financial solutions to the people. This financial institution is synonymous with convenience and friendly service provided to their customers.

Proving to be the people’s best choice with regard to providing financial services, LB Finance was awarded the SLIM Nielsen Award for People’s Financial Service Provider of the Year. This award is issued by the partnership of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and Nielsen following a nationwide survey gaging brand awareness and people’s preference where they recognise exceptional services by Sri Lankan brands.

Since this survey, from which the winners are declared is conducted across the island in all districts to be exact, the awards are a true reflection of how the Sri Lankan people perceive the brand, said LB Finance Head of Marketing Sudeep Perera speaking to Daily FT.

Speaking further, Perera stated, “This shows how the customers feel about our brand. It’s evident that we are providing the right services to our customers and also the customers’ needs are well understood by us. There cannot be a better recognition of our work than this award, which is the choice of the people.” Perera also noted that the customer-oriented culture of the management, excellent levels of customer service by the dedicated staff and the effective communications of the financial services designed to fulfil the financial needs of the public have raised LB Finance to be the top-of the mind finance and leasing brand in the country.

LB Finance PLC offers a full range of financial services such as, leasing, factoring, hire purchasing, mortgage loans, housing loans, education loans, loans for small businesses, gold loans, fixed deposits, savings accounts, and foreign currency exchange, a few services on offer as mentioned by Perera.

LB Finance PLC is the leader in the finance and leasing industry with a very stable financial foundation and an island-wide branch network with over 3,500 employees. Fitch ratings affirmed LB Finance with A- lka ratings, which reflects the strong financial stability of the organisation.

“Apart from the unparalleled convenience offered to the customers through our financial services, LB Finance has also focused on its responsibilities to the society at large. Hence, we are carrying out CSR activities under six themes so that a better focus could be given to each aspect when providing the benefits,” said Perera, and elaborated on the CSR themes, which come under the areas of; Environment, Future, Health, Help, Heritage, and Safety. Under the environment category, the company focuses on environmental preservation where they take efforts to promote sustainable development. “In heading towards our 50th anniversary, LB Finance initiated a project ‘Mission Thuru Wawamu, 50-50Thousand’ where we aim to plant 50,000 trees by May 2021 and this project is currently on-going successfully after the launch last year,” stated Sudeep Perera and he further mentioned, “Looking at the progress of this project, I’m confident that we will be able to exceed our aim too and the main reason for all the success we are having is the support and efforts of the staff members who truly care about the well-being of the society.”

With this project, LB Finance conveys a strong message to us by highlighting the importance of trees and showing us efforts in negating the adverse effects of deforestation. The company also makes an effort to improve and facilitate the children in our country with their education too. There are on-going projects in schools where they are conducting workshops for the betterment of the student, which results in the betterment of the future of the country. Likewise, with their continuous efforts to provide the best for the country and its people, LB Finance pursues their strategy to become the brand closest to Sri Lankan hearts.

LB Finance was crowned among the top 20 local brands in Sri Lanka at the Interbrands Best Sri Lankan Brands 2017 and was the only Finance and Leasing brand to be selected to the top 20 list.

“This is evidence that LB Finance is Sri Lanka’s No. 1 Finance and Leasing Brand, and the SLIM-Nielsen award for People’s Financial Service provider is an endorsement by the public that we are the No. 1 Finance and Leasing Brand of the country,” stated Perera.

When asked about the future initiatives of LB Finance, he mentioned, “We at LB Finance are very much futuristic and would continue to provide the best financial services to our customers with emerging technological advancements to provide more convenient financial solutions to the people, with a very effective level of financial management and discipline together with excellence in customer service.”
