Dilip appointed to Sampath Bank Board

Dilip Kumar de Silva Wijeratne has been appointed to the Board of Sampath Bank as a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director.

Wijeratne is a senior finance and banking professional and a principal consultant who provides advisory services to companies globally, to expand operations within Middle East, Sri Lanka and Australia. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (AC), Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK (FCMA) and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

Wijeratne is a Non-Executive Director of Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC, Regnis Lanka PLC, Singer Industries (Ceylon) PLC, Hayleys Fibre PLC and a Director of Third Wave International WLL Bahrain. He moved as a finance professional to Pricewaterhouse, Bahrain, and has extensive experience in audit and advisory services. He commenced a Banking career at HSBC Bank, Middle East, as Head of Finance and Operations and latterly, was Head of Global Markets and Treasury for the group offices of HSBC Group in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He was a member of the senior management team, responsible for Corporate Treasury Sales and management of Asset and Liability Management (ALCO) for three legal entities of HSBC Group operating in Bahrain. 

In 2010, Wijeratne joined Third Wave International WLL (TWI) as an equity partner and CEO and embraced entrepreneurship. He leads a team of consultants and facilitates consultancy offerings in Financial Advisory, Human Resources, Marketing, Project and Quality Management, Research and Learning and Development to the private and public sector entities in Bahrain and Oman.
