The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has been adjudged the ‘Most Innovative Customer Service Banking Brand, Sri Lanka 2018’ by the UK-based ‘Global Brands’ – a magazine that provides reviews, opinions, news and polls on leading brands across the globe.

Commercial Bank was evaluated alongside more than 7,000 other companies in a study conducted by an independent external research agency appointed by the Global Brands and was chosen as the recipient of this award from Sri Lanka. The agency collected data from publicly available sources and submitted its nominations in the award categories to Global Brands Publications Limited.

The bank received this award at a ceremony at the Banyan Tree Macau. Commercial Bank’s Deputy General Manager Marketing Hasrath Munasinghe accepted the award on behalf of the bank. The Global Brands Awards program was established with the aim of honouring excellence in performance and rewarding companies across different sectors. The awards recognise companies that have performed extraordinarily well in the fields of finance, education, hospitality, lifestyle, automobiles and technology.

Among the most prominent customer service enhancement features that the bank has introduced are Automated Banking Centres in strategic locations to allow customers to carry out their banking transactions 24x7. The bank also introduced Sri Lanka’s first fully-automated cheque deposit machine and has a widespread network of holiday banking centres including supermarket banking counters, branches that work from 9a.m. to 9p.m. and branches that are open on weekends and national holidays.

The bank has also introduced many cutting-edge innovative e-banking solutions including SMSbanking, mobile phone cash top up, overseas SWIFT money remittance services as well as self-service touch screens in branches and automated instant cash and cheque deposit machines and ATMs which offer utility bill payment facilities in addition to cash withdrawals.

Additionally, Commercial Bank Cards have introduced many service enhancements such as Over The Air Pin (OTAP) facility, auto bill pay facility, remitting money through Visa and Mastercard, and credit card bill settlements through the website to facilitate customer convenience.
