CMA continuing professional development (CPD) workshop on ‘RAMIS Tax Systems & Practical Issues Face

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA) will conduct a CPD workshop on ‘RAMIS Tax Systems & Practical Issues Faced by Taxpayers’ on 21 February (Wednesday) from 5.30pm - 7.30pm at the CMA Office, 3rd Floor Auditorium, Visakha Private Road, Colombo 4.

The objective of this seminar is to examine how tax payers have adjusted to the Inland Revenue Department’s shift to the electronic filing of returns, and to analyse the issues affecting both the revenue authorities and the taxpayer. Resource persons from the Inland Revenue Department and the private sector will be on hand to answer questions relating to teething issues in using the newly introduced RAMIS System.

The presentations on ‘NBT and VAT Aspects on RAMIS’ will be delivered by SJMS Associates Tax Supervisor S. Thiripuranathar, , and ‘How to overcome the Practical issues in RAMIS’ will be delivered by Inland Revenue Department Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Project Director (RAMIS) Mahesh Ranawakaarachichi. The panel discussion will be held at the end of the presentations and it will be moderated by Javed Mansoor, Attorney at Law. The panellists are Inland Revenue Department Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Project Director (RAMIS) P. Nandana Kumara, and John Keells Group Assistant Vice President and Tax Head (Consumer Foods and Retail Sector Nimali Liyanage, 

The seminar will conclude with a question and answer session where participants will also have an opportunity to discuss practical applications and obtain any clarifications.

The seminar is meant for: members of CMA, Finance Directors, CEOs, CFOs, Finance Managers, Accountants, Financial Analysts and other Accounting and Finance professionals.
