Waves of Change 2019

Waves of Change 2019 organised by Connect 2012 was held on 20 October at the Crow Island Beach Park from 7 a.m. onwards. 

Connect 2012 was an initiative of the group of 2012 of Royal College in collaboration with the groups of 2012 representing Ananda College, Bishops’ College, DS Senanayake College, Holy Family Convent, Ladies College, Musaeus College, Richmond College, St. Joseph’s College, St. Peter’s College, St. Thomas’ College and Visakha Vidyalaya. 

Waves of Change was a successful initiative to address the issue of plastic and recorded a collection of 810 kg of plastic waste which was handed over to the Sri Lanka Navy for upcycling. The event also featured the establishment of a special structure for the collection of plastic waste and the display of an awareness board. The organising committee of Connect 2012 would like to extend its gratitude to all the participants who joined to turn the tide on plastics at Waves of Change 2019!
