UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka to host Zoom Webinar on Wednesday to share insights from WWF – SA, City Developments Ltd., Hayleys Plantations and LOLC Finance PLC on the Corporate Response to the Climate Emergency


The UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative and comprises of several local networks. The UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka will host a webinar titled ‘Corporate Response to the Climate Emergency’ on 10 February, 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. (IST) via Zoom. 

The objectives of the virtual webinar are to understand the status and need for private sector to respond to climate emergency, the importance of a science-based approach to climate change and climate actions taken by City Developments Ltd. (Singapore), Hayleys Plantations and LOLC Finance PLC. 

The speakers will include several local and foreign experts namely Zniko Nhlapho (Technical Manager, Science Based Targets WWF), Esther An (Chief Sustainability Officer – City Developments Ltd.), Dr. Roshan Rajadurai (Managing Director of Hayleys Plantations) and Jithendra Gunatilake (Head of Compliance, LOLC Finance PLC). The moderator will be Rathika de Silva (Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka) and the opening remarks will be given by Dr. Ravi Fernando (Chairman/CEO of Global Strategic Corporate Sustainability Ltd., and Board Member of UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka).
