The consumption of electronic equipment is continuously increasing worldwide and, consequently, so is the volume of waste these equipment generate at its end-of-life. Major industries such as IT, BPO/BPM, Logistics, etc. are affected by the increasing volume of electronic waste as it is a growing concern as to how it can be responsibly discarded.

Being the first and largest IT Park in Sri Lanka, Orion City has sought to support its tenants by deploying e-waste bins across the park with the aim of improving the management of e-waste for the companies located within Orion City. Orion City has tied up with a reputed organisation who is experienced in waste management solutions. These e-waste bins are located across the park for each building for the tenants’ easy accessibility.

Established in 2009, Orion City has built a reputation for excellence having repeatedly set the Sri Lankan benchmark in terms of sophisticated, commercial space and office infrastructure. By providing its tenants with the opportunity to responsibly discard their e-waste, Orion City believes in emphasising the park’s sustainability while prohibiting hazardous constituents that may negatively impact the environment and affect human health if not properly managed.
