The Gateway Colleges, in their endeavour to create opportunities for students to showcase their creative talents, will be organising their Choral Festival for the fourth consecutive year and for the second year with the University of Adelaide.

This year, Gateway College Dehiwala together with the University of Adelaide present ‘The Adelaide Choral Fest – Broadway Musicals’ on Thursday 19 September at 6:30 p.m. in the Gateway College Dehiwala Auditorium. This concert will feature the choirs of the Gateway Colleges of Colombo, Kandy, Negombo and Dehiwala together with guest performances by the choir of Methodist College, Colombo 3, the Canto Perpetua Choir of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia and the choir of Holy Family Convent, Colombo.

All the choirs will take the stage to bring musicals from Broadway to the audience in a creative exposition, keeping them at the edge of their seats and tapping their toes to the beat of well-loved songs from Lion King to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to Aladdin and much more. The show will guarantee its audience an exciting evening.

The concert is partnered by the Soul Sounds Academy and the Gateway Graduate School who formed a unique collaboration last year, with the University of Adelaide, to offer a degree program in Business and Music to students interested in the same. The first year of the degree will be jointly delivered in Sri Lanka, by the Gateway Graduate School and the Soul Sounds Academy. On successful completion of the first year, students will receive an international Diploma in Business (awarded by UK’s NCC Education) and a Diploma in Music (jointly awarded by the Gateway Graduate School and the Soul Sounds Academy). They will also qualify to go into the second year of undergraduate studies at the University of Adelaide in Australia. The presenters welcome all to be part of this exciting evening on 19 September at 6:30 p.m. For more information on this concert, please contact the Gateway College Dehiwala administration office on 011 5757234/5 or 011 2716320.
