Russian Choir arrives for Cinnamon Lakeside’s debut Children’s Christmas Choir Festival 2019

Internationally-award winning Russian Choir Alye Parusa, directed by Elena Volodina, with music director Soundarie David Rodrigo and members of the management and staff of Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo 

The 30-member troupe of the internationally award-wining Russian all female choir Alye Parusa, directed by Elena Volodina, arrived in Colombo, as Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo debuts Sri Lanka’s Children’s Christmas Choir Festival on 13-14 December. Sharing Christmas joy and cheer through music, the choir will perform a variety of carols in the gala concerts, alongside over 400 students of local junior choirs. The Festival is curated by Cinnamon Lakeside and supported by internationally-renown music director Soundarie David Rodrigo. 

On 13 December, the Russian Choir will be joined by the talented youngsters of Soul Sounds Academy and Petite Chorale. On 14 December, they will be joined by students of local and international school junior choirs, including Asian International School, Gateway College Colombo, St. Benedict’s College Colombo, Lyceum International School Panadura, the British School in Colombo, and Wycherley International School.

In addition, a special Children’s Choral Workshop, conducted by the Alye Parusa Children’s Choir will be held on 14 December at the Dukes Court, where youngsters interested in music can learn from the Russian Choir. For more details and reservations, call 011 249 1884.
