Grand prizes to be won for photography and short films competition

To mark the celebration of World Hindi Day on 10 January 2018, an innovative contest ‘Alok Dhara’ will be conducted by High Commission of India, Colombo. Under Alok Dhara an island-wide photography and short films competitions are being organised.

1)Photography competition with a caption/title in Hindi. A photograph depicting any one of the following topics can be sent as an entry to the competition.

 On the following topics:

I.  Nature and wildlife

II. Monuments and historical places

III. Portraits from daily life

 2) Short films competition (30 seconds) with subtitles or voice over in Hindi. Topic can be selected by the participant.

Competitions are open to all age groups. Please send the entries to email id: [email protected] on or before 5 January 2018. Once submitted, the entries may be used by High Commission for any purpose, with due credit to the artists in future.

 Photography Competition:

• First Prize – 30,000 LKR,
• Second Prize – 10,000 LKR,
• Third Prize – 5,000 LKR

 Short Films competition:

• First Prize – 30,000 LKR,
• Second Prize – 10,000 LKR,
• Third Prize – 5,000 LKR
