Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre will present a musical evening ‘Jalte hain jiske liye’ – Golden oldies from the Hindi silver screen on 28 March at 6:30 p.m. at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre auditorium located at 16/2, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7.

An evening of songs from the golden years of Hindi film music (the ’50s and the ’60s) will be presented by Sudhakar Rao, a former civil servant and a music lover from Bengaluru accompanied by the internationally-acclaimed Sri Lankan pianist Soundarie David Rodrigo, renowned Indian guitarist Pradeep Rodrigo and the outstanding Sri Lankan musician and sound engineer Neranjan de Silva. 

Sudhakar Rao will present best known numbers of the legendary singers Talat Mehmood and Hemant Kumar, blending with them the musical magic of Soundarie David Rodrigo, Pradeep Rodrigo and Neranjan de Silva. This will be yet another musical collaboration showcasing close cultural ties between our two countries India and Sri Lanka.
