Double Blue Ball 2017 – Broadway Classics – A sold out event par excellence

The annual dinner dance of Wesley College Colombo is the most sought after event in every Wesleyites calendar. As an event with a reputation for classy entertainment and camaraderie, the event is always sold out months before.

Following the enormous success of last year’s “Bond” themed dance, this year the committee plans to take the event to new heights with a theme that has never been done before. The theme promises a “time capsule” experience which will take you back to the golden era of Broadway, the 1920s. And the dance is themed as, the Broadway Classics, where the glamour and the ambiance was unparalleled and entertainment was at classy heights.

Wesleyites, their family and friends will be dressed for the occasion to reflect the flamboyance  glamour experienced a century back with the finest ladies and gentlemen indulge in the fines of entertainment , music , beverages and food .

The Oak Room of Cinnamon Grand is specially transformed to match the theme back in that classical times. The date to note is 21October. The event will kick off with fellowship and Champaign in the foyer from 8p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m.

The music will be provided by the bands Wildfire and D-Zone which includes some versatile legends in the music scene in Sri Lanka. Broadway Classics will be hosted by Trishma Pinto who will add that extra bit of class to the glamour. 

Many Wesleyites and their loved ones are flying in from all over the world to experience the event. Moreover extravagant gifts await those who have been lucky enough to buy raffle and entrance tickets.The dance being fully sold out, the committee regrets its inability to accommodate the persistent requests for further bookings.   

The committee requests everyone to get to the venue on time and not to miss the special performances and displays which are planned to make the event as authentic as possible keeping in line with the 1920s Broadway theme. Already seamstress are busy with orders for special Gatsby dresses while the makeup and hair stylists  have their appointments all clogged up for coming few days. 

The Wesley fraternity is gearing up for this beautiful event, an important night in their calendar. The event will have the presence of young to very senior old boys from around the world the gathering this year would bring the Double Blue spirit to the fore and would be remembered in years to come.
