Colombo City Centre hosts Open Mic Evening

To celebrate the diversity and unique nature of Sri Lanka’s incredible music community, Colombo City Centre will be hosting a thrilling ‘Open Mic Evening’. This event will offer aspiring singers the golden opportunity to showcase their vocal prowess. 

Occurring this Saturday, 3 August, the occasion will be a music-filled evening demonstrating different genres in acoustic form, which will allow amateur musicians to display their creativity and distinctive style. A three-piece backing band will also be on hand to enhance the rhythm of the participants’ selected music.

Three lucky winners will be awarded with amazing prizes, courtesy of Colombo City Centre. Participants will be expected to first pre-register for the event by messaging an audio or video clip of them singing to Colombo City Centre’s social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram). 

They also have the choice of performing their own original material or a cover of their favourite song. The Colombo City Centre Open Mic Evening will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mall Atrium, Colombo City Centre, Sir James Peiris Mawatha, Colombo 2. Registrations for the event will be open till 12 p.m. on Friday, 2 August.
