The Bank of Ceylon Christian Association celebrated its 54th Christmas Carol Service in December 2019 with the patronage of the bank’s CEO and General Manager Senarath Bandara and members of corporate and executive management.

The service was attended by current and retired staff members of the bank along with their families.

The bank’s very first carol service was held on 17 December 1965. Since then, the Christmas carol service has been held annually at the bank. This year, 36 members of the BOC staff participated in the 54th Carol Service.

Despite their busy work schedules, they were able to conduct a successful and colourful event. The Chief Guest was Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo Rt. Rev. Dr. J.D. Anthony. There were other priests in attendance on this day.  This service is also a long-awaited event for the bank by all staff members, irrespective of religion, which was enjoyed by all. The bank’s retired staff members also eagerly awaited this carol service, as it gave them an opportunity to meet each other and share their love and joy, which was the real meaning of Christmas.
