‘The Foreigner’ is an action thriller film directed by Martin Campbell and written by David Marconi. The British-Chinese co-production stars Jackie Chan, Pierce Brosnan, Charlie Murphy, Michael McElhatton, Orla Brady, Liu Tao and Katie Leung.

Jackie Chan goes up against Pierce Brosnan and the IRA in an old-fashioned suspense movie from the director of ‘Casino Royale’, ‘Golden Eye’ and ‘Edge of Darkness’.

It’s a story of humble London businessman Quan (Chan), whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fuelled vendetta when the only person left for him to love – his teenage daughter -- is taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism. In his relentless search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan is forced into a cat-and-mouse conflict with a British government official (Brosnan), whose own past may hold clues to the identities of the elusive killers.

‘The Foreigner’ screens at Majestic Cineplex 10:15, 1:15, 4:15, 7:15, Fri/Sat 10:15 p.m. Empire Cineplex 1:30, 4:30, 7:30, Fri/Sat 10:30 p.m., Sat/Sun 10:30 a.m. and Regal Gampaha 10:30, 1:30, 4:15 and 7:15.
