This year marks the 10th death anniversary of one of Sri Lanka’s finest choral directors, Ruwani Seimon who passed away of cancer in November, 2007.

It was a devastating loss for ‘The Voices in Harmony’ (a choir she founded in 1995) as well as her family, friends and the music and choral industries that still consider her to be an inspiring and beloved prodigy. She was an absolute asset and treasure.

‘The Voices in Harmony’, comprising of singers who trained under her as students, as well as past choristers from St. Bridget’s Convent, Bishop’s College and Wycherley International School have reunited to showcase ‘Remembering Ru, a tribute concert to celebrate her great legacy and musical journey, on 18 November, at the Bishops College Auditorium at 7 p.m.

The evening will consist of a repertoire of songs reminiscent of her favourites, ranging from spiritual, modern, broadway medleys and her own arrangement of local classics.

Profits will be in aid of cancer care.
