Co-Energi guides Vidullanka towards Arc certification

Located in Colombo 2, Vidullanka PLC is a renewable energy company that owns and manages hydro power plants in Sri Lanka and Uganda as well as biomass and solar projects across Sri Lanka. 

As part of their corporate sustainability initiatives Vidullanka obtained the services of Co-Energi Ltd. to acquire an ‘Arc’ score for their corporate office.

Arc measures a building’s sustainability performance across five main categories, namely energy, water, transportation, waste and human experience. An initiative of the US Green Building Council (USGBC), Arc scores empower people to design, build and operate places that benefit both people and the environment. It helps users achieve green building certification, improve individual building sustainability, manage complex portfolios and transform cities and communities.

Vidullanka scored well above the global average for most of the categories. The scores obtained for each category was a careful study of tracking waste, measuring hazardous particles in the environment, conducting transportation and occupant comfort surveys as well as analysing monthly water and energy utility bills.
