Randi Hathnagoda of Kurunegala is the daughter of Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) Randula and Asha Hathnagoda. She was awarded the Baden Powell’s (BP) Award, which is the highest rank a Rover Scout could achieve. The award ceremony was held on 25 April, at the Pallekele Moot Rally of the 34th National Rover Scout Moot Training Centre in Kandy. The Chief Guest was Sri Lanka’s Chief Scout Commissioner, Major General Milinda Peiris, Vice Chancellor of the Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU). Hathnagoda is a third year Biomedical Sciences undergraduate at the CINEC Campus, Malabe. At present, she is a Rover Scout of the Ethugalpura Pioneers’ Girls’ District Rover Crew of Kurunegala.
