Pakistan High Commission awards Jinnah scholarships to Lanka’s O/L, A/L students

A ceremony was organised by the Pakistan High Commission, Colombo to award 304 bright A-Level students of Sri Lanka. 

These scholarships have been awarded by the Government of Pakistan to brilliant Sri Lankan students of O and A Level since 2006. 

So far, 2,000 Sri Lankan students have benefitted from this program which is named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the revered founding father of Pakistan.

The occasion was attended by Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Namal Rajapaksa as the Chief Guest and State Minister of Education Reform, Open Universities and Distance Learning Promotion Susil Premajayantha as Guest of Honour. Both appreciated this gracious gesture from the Government and the public of Pakistan.

Major General (Retd) Muhammad Saad Khattak thanked the guests for attended the auspicious occasion and emphasised upon the importance of the relationship that both the countries enjoy and the fact that Pakistan aimed at strengthening these strong ties manifold.
