Lanka IOC fosters an invaluable relationship with the Tri-forces of the country and always endeavours to be part of their association. In continuation of its deep commitment to serve the nation, it conducted a workshop for 24 students of the Sri Lankan Army School of Logistics, Trincomalee on 15 February at Trincomalee Oil Terminal.

The Army School of Logistics is an institute for training officers and senior non-commissioned officers in the fields of logistics and administration. The school provides logisticians with acquaintance of modern theories and practices of logistics planning and management. The school also aims to provide a forum for discussion on the science of land, naval and air logistics, national and international security affairs, logistics doctrine, and other topics of significant and current interest to the defence services.

The one-day workshop was conducted at the terminal covering topics on the logistics and supply chain management of petroleum products such as petrol, diesel, furnace oil and lubricant products and also included a site visit to the tank farm, jetty, the fire pump house, the lubricant plant and laboratory. During the training, quality control norms and safety features in the terminal were explained to the participants. The workshop concluded with a thrilling live fire drill providing a feel of an actual emergency and on the methods to face it. All safety measures towards COVID-19 were ensured during the training.

Upon conclusion of the workshop, the Army School of Logistics Chief Instructor Col. H.A.M. Premarathne highly appreciated the program and thanked LIOC for always coming forward for such services. Lanka IOC is always humbled and thankful to Sri Lanka Army for giving such opportunities in fulfilling the interest of the Sri Lankan Army.
