Nestled inside the Masterpieces Furniture showroom on the mezzanine floor in Madiwela is this cosy and inviting lounge to relax in and have that much looked forward to ‘catch up’ with friends and family.

Four months into the journey of Yasmin’s appearance in the café scene has seen new introductions to what was originally on the menu.

From a selection of delicious flavours of ice cream by Carino and scrumptious cakes from The Cake Factory, heavenly coffee brews, the café now offers hot chocolate topped with marshmallows, mocha, a strong tea infused with ginger, waffles made then and there with either a savoury chicken or mushroom topping, all of which have become popular favourites of those who patronise the café.

Sometimes, when a weekend is brewing, Yasmin’s brings on Cake Factory’s delicious Carrot Cake or the Ribbon Surprise – an amazing combination of flavours.

Incredible sundaes, milk shakes, ginger beer by Cherine’s Quench, while homemade iced coffee and naarang juice often see repeat customers back at the café. On weekends, or some weekdays, a limited quantity of almond tarts and marshmallows grace the shelves.

While Yasmin herself ignites her oven and bakes her signature éclairs and brownies, new to the offerings are some delicious chutneys made with pineapple and date and apple and date by Complements. The latter has become a hot favourite as they can be used as a dip or as a spread in a sandwich.

The savoury waffle has been a top favourite in the take-away range, while coffees and the creamy milk shakes are good to have on the go. Carino 500 ml tubs are also available in different flavours and appear to be the popular gift to take to a loved one or that extra splurge after a meal.

Kids had a fun time at the café during the Valentine’s Day promotion engaging in a colouring competition with every participant winning great gifts.

With Easter just a few days away, on 4 April, at 11:30 a.m., Yasmin’s has organised an ‘Easter Egg Hunt’ where parents can visit the café, relax over any of the offerings the café has, while their kids of ages from four to 10 can participate in an egg hunt. Easter bunnies and eggs will be on sale too.

Yasmin’s is waiting to welcome everyone as always for that little bit of goodness in every scoop. There’s also a special menu coming up which will be available during the month of Ramadan with slightly longer opening hours. Yasmin’s is closed on Mondays and Poya days.
