Mövenpick Hotel Colombo shines at 26th National Bartenders Competition 2018

wins the “Classic Masters” category

The 26th National Bartenders Competition 2018 organised by Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association (CHSGA) in collaboration with SLITHM and sponsored by Beverage Partner M/s. Rockland Distilleries took place from 15 May to 15 June. 

Sahan Weerasinghe representing Mövenpick Hotel Colombo, participated in this competition together with several bartenders vying for one of the spots in the finals, held Friday, 15 June. He was declared the winner of the “Classic Masters” category which allows contestants to come up with their creative ideas in delivering an innovative cocktail classic. His rendition of the “Bartender and the thief” was inspired by one of his favourite songs and showcased skill and creativity. 

He was awarded a week’s training at the Association of Bartenders & Sommeliers and will proceed to participate in the Asia Pacific Bartender of the Year competition which will be held in Singapore later this year.
