Have an ‘Eggcelent’ Easter at Waters Edge

The biggest Easter Egg Hunt to hit the shores of Colombo returns this year to Colombo’s favourite entertainment hub Waters Edge on Sunday 1 April. A day full of fun activities, lots of delicious food and a ton of prizes and surprises for kids (and adults!) awaits at the Grand Lawn from 11:30 a.m. onwards.

Keeping with the grand style that is commonplace at Waters Edge, Peter Rabbit will make a surprise entrance this year. He will then help the children find hundreds of colourful eggs that have been hidden all over the grounds the night before. Once that is done and dusted, the kids will have a galore of Easter themes games and rides, an Easter piñata full of surprises, arts and crafts corners, bouncers, face-painting and magic balloons to enjoy. Lucky kids and families can also enjoy many other prizes up for grabs in the raffle draw.

While the kids enjoy the fun and frolic, the award-winning culinary team at Waters Ede headed by Executive Chef Buddhika Samarasekera and Chef Nalin Hewage the maestro in the dessert department will put together a Sunday buffet like no other. Easter favourites like glazed ham and roast lamb done to perfection with sauces that are just right, roast potatoes and summer vegetables, hot cross buns, and Peter Rabbit’s personal favourite “carrot cake” will be the highlight of the brunch. Well-known for spreading out the largest dessert buffet the hotel will also pull out all stops to ensure that a colourful array of desserts and sweets satisfy even the most discerning sweet tooth. There’ll definitely be lots of chocolate in the array of cakes, puddings both hot and cold, and the ever-flowing chocolate fountain.

Tickets will be priced at 3,700 per person with kids between 6-12 at half rate and tots below 6 enjoying all the fun free of charge.

If you prefer to indulge in a gourmet high tea over a tete-a-tete on a Sunday afternoon then the Lounge will be ideal at 2,500 nett per person. Easter Celebrations can also be extended to an exquisite dinner at the Boardwalk priced at 3,000 nett per person.
