Platinum One Suites, which has already been taking giant leaps ahead in the realm of hospitality, now seek to broaden their horizons even further with their newest and biggest inclusion: Culinary Development Director Chef Kithsiri De Silva who will be leading the culinary team and uplifting the gastronomic offerings at the luxury apartment-hotel. He will be joining Platinum One Suites Chief Operating Officer Mahesh Amarasinghe at the helm to steer this exclusive lifestyle venture on to greater success.

With a wealth of experience behind them during their years serving at luxury hotel brands around the world, there is no doubt that the premier five-star accommodation is certain to become the number one choice for culinary indulgences, corporate requirements and accommodation in Colombo.

Mahesh Amarasinghe commenced his career in the hospitality industry over 20 years ago. Having worked with numerous five-star hotels both locally and overseas and possessing a prominent F&B background, he is well-known for his expertise in the banqueting and events department.

In addition, Mahesh has managed over 10,000 events in the past and extends his expertise, together with Chef Kithsiri and the various talents and professionalism of Platinum One’s dynamic team, to pave a pathway for Platinum One Suites toward a prominently-recognised venue for F&B offerings in Colombo.

Chef Kithsiri De Silva possesses an impressive repertoire of skills and international expertise spanning over 35 years crafting gastronomic specialties at renowned five-star hotels in Bahrain, Kuwait, Dubai, Europe and Sri Lanka. His leadership earned him prestigious awards such as the World Luxury Restaurant Awards, South West Asia Best Luxury Seafood Restaurant, South West Asia Best Eclectic/International Cuisine Restaurant, Best Luxury Hotel Restaurant Award, and many more.

Chef Kithsiri will lead the dynamic culinary team at Platinum One Suites to ensure that perfection is served and is also looking at a menu revamp with the inclusion of more innovative and better cuisine offerings for guests to enjoy. Their primary objective is to deliver the trendiest and most economical outdoor catering experience in Sri Lanka. Titled ‘Flavours Your Way by Platinum One Suites’, Mahesh and Chef Kithsiri will be the forerunners in this development, ensuring excellence in culinary offerings and service, making it the total event solution unit which caters to events anywhere in the island.

With service staff who are veterans in events and banqueting, Platinum One Suites is already gearing up for a few prominent upcoming events. The property has already catered to two large banquet events in India which were hosted by renowned Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani and Indian industrialist Ajay Piramal respectively. Both colourful occasions were graced by famous Indian personalities, actors, businessmen and politicians.

This dynamic duo will also launch their core objective – the opening of the new poolside restaurant and bar known as ‘Blend’, a chic and fun indoor/outdoor venue located on the fourth floor overlooking the pool and the Colombo skyline.

The ambiance of the location offers a blend of attributes: from the soothing touch of the ocean breeze and the quaint vibes of poolside dining to the beats of music modern and retro, Blend aims to be popularised for the best deals in town, having a range of great F&B deals on offer such as the Sunday roast, theme nights and lunch buffets, with the added advantage of its being centrally located in the energetic buzz of the Colombo city.

In addition, everyone’s favourite late afternoon meal, the High Tea buffet was also launched recently and will be a celebrated every day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. for Rs. 1,500 nett per person.

Café at One at Platinum One Suites, offering to the café culture, is located on the ground floor with easy access via Galle Road. Being the only coffee shop of its kind in the area, it has an excellent reputation primarily due to its range of healthy breakfast options on offer, the live ‘roast paan’ sandwich counter, delectable cake options and the evening street food counter which draws in vast crowds, providing very affordable and convenient takeaway options, especially on week nights as they are open until 12 midnight. Plans are underway to expand the dining area of the café.   Platinum One Suites is a five-star Apartment-Hotel concept which was rebranded in early 2019.

Conveniently located along the bustling Galle Road in Colombo, the 20-story property boasts 66 expansive spaces, consisting of three-bedroom and four-bedroom expansive apartment-suites; complete with housekeeping, concierge and butler services. Designed for guests who appreciate refined luxury, Platinum One Suits offers cosmopolitan elegance and luxury to suit the lifestyles of today’s discerning travellers and its central location gives easy access to all of Colombo. Star-class services, luxury amenities and a feeling of infinite space and comfort are the stages for unforgettable moments alongside friends and loved ones.
