WNS donates Rs. 5.8 m to ‘ITUKAMA’ COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund

WNS, a leading BPM company, donated over Rs. 5.8 million ($ 30,000) to the ‘ITUKAMA’ COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund in support of Sri Lanka’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

WNS senior leadership handed over a cheque to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Prime Minister’s Office on 2 June.

“The pandemic has wreaked havoc but collaborative measures have demonstrated what we can and must do to arrest its spread. The occasion calls for united action and collective efforts from across the board. WNS is attempting to contribute to the best of its abilities in monetary contributions, volunteering efforts and mobilising support,” said WNS Group CEO Keshav Murugesh. 

“This unprecedented situation calls for collective action on all fronts. WNS has and will continue to offer support in whatever way possible to strengthen the response against this pandemic,” he added. 

“The efforts by the Government of Sri Lanka to proactively combat the spread of the pandemic are commendable and WNS is humbled to be able to contribute to this mission. WNS is committed to supporting the Government and is willing to work closely with healthcare authorities and security forces for providing any support required,” said WNS Sri Lanka Managing Director Dinesh Wickremanayake. 

Apart from contributing to the National Fund, WNS employees have also launched a program to donate dry ration supplies to 200 families in need.
