Swadeshi launches Khomba Baby Honda Purudu for kids of Sri Lanka

The Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC Chairperson Amari Wijewardene, who was recently awarded the ‘Business Role Model of the Year 2019’ by WIM/IFC (World Bank) launched “Khomba Baby Honda Purudu” at the Helena Wijewardene Maha Vidyalaya, Kelaniya. 

The signature launch was to commemorate Children’s Day, celebrated on 1 October 2019. “The 80 year old company fosters a strong family culture. Hence, we want to instil in society the need to practice good values and discipline, bringing out good citizens. Hence, the branded CSR project ‘Khomba Baby Honda Purudu’ was launched,” said Wijewardene, adding, “The event was very special as the school Helena Wijewardene Maha Vidyalaya was built by our family around fifty years back for the people of Kelaniya.”

This will be shortly endorsed by a global agency and rolled out across the country,” she continued. “This year’s WIM/ IFC Top 50 Women Career Professionals Awards theme was ‘Empowered Women for Sustainable Growth’. The decision of the judges was unanimous that Swadeshi Chairperson Amari Wijewardene was the best fit to be this year’s Business Role Model for Sri Lanka,” said WIM/ IFC Top 50 Women Career Professionals Awards founder Dr. Sulochana Segera.
