MELBN Metal Ltd. has launched a humanitarian project to build 500 houses island-wide for the needy masons without proper shelter.

The first house constructed at Dickwela, Bathagama was vested with the recipient recently. MELBN Metal Company CEO Dr. Mohamed Ramzy and former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain Kumar Sangakkara were present at the handing-over ceremony. Rs. 1.2 million has been spent to build the housing unit.

Kumar Sangakkara addressing the gathering said: “Although the masons are playing a key role when providing shelter for others, they don’t have their own houses. MELBN Metal Ltd. has decided to address this issue at an appropriate time.” He thanked the Company CEO Mohamed Ramzy and staff for constructing 500 houses island-wide for masons.
