Bairaha successfully completes CSR initiative at Wathupitiwala Base Hospital

Bairaha Farms PLC, Sri Lanka’s pioneer and leading chicken processors, recently embarked upon and completed its CSR initiative to renovate Surgical Ward No. 15 at the Wathupitiwala Base Hospital, and officially handed over the completed ward.

The initiative is part of the company’s Social Welfare Programme 2018, which was initiated last month, further committing to its social responsibilities.

The handing over ceremony of the new ward was graced by the presence of Bairaha Farms PLC Personal Administration Group Manager S.P. Kumaradasa, Bairaha Farms PLC Human Resources Head Navin De Silva, Bairaha Farms PLC Operations Director M.I. Wahid, Bairaha Farms PLC Brand Manager Ravin Madusanka and staff of Bairaha Farms PLC.

Attanagalla Raja Maha Viharadipathi, Mahopadyaya, Chief Sanghanayake Thera of Seenadi Four Korales and Wathupitiwala Hospital Development Foundation President Ven. Dr. Pannila Ananda Thero, on who’s request Bairaha embarked upon this venture to undertake certain specific civil works in the physiotherapy section and to provide some equipment to the Wathupitiwala District/Base Hospital, remarked that Bairaha Farms PLC has been with the development foundation of the hospital since its inception, and that their collaboration is a great strength for the hospital.

The Surgical Ward No. 15 comprises 36 beds and provides treatments for over 500 internal patients monthly. The Wathupitiwala Base Hospital is one of the main hospitals in Attanagalla, and it provides treatment for victims of road accidents on Colombo-Kandy Road, on a regular basis.

Therefore, Bairaha has realised that supporting in maintaining the hospital is highly meritorious. Bairaha Farms PLC has decided to provide their utmost support to the hospital to fulfil this invaluable social responsibility.
