‘Yalu Daskam’ by HNB Finance inspires young minds through arts and crafts

Reaching another milestone in their journey to inspire young minds to create, Sri Lanka’s leading financial services provider, HNB Finance held two more arts and crafts programs for school children in Chilaw and Kantale. 

Yalu Daskam is an ongoing series of children centred programs organised at various locations across the country which takes an approach of joyful learning. The most recent arts and crafts programs were held at the Bishop Edumund Peiris College in Chilaw (12 October), Vaan Ela Vidyalaya and Pansalgodalla Junior High School in Kantale (2 November), in collaboration with Chilaw and Kantale branches.  Over 300 students together with their parents participated in the programs led by renowned artist Dayawansa Kumasaru. Fun painting activities were organised for school goers while awareness programs on fostering creativity in children were held for parents.

Students were awarded certificates of participation in addition to art and school supplies. Additionally, HNB Finance will also present valuable gifts and certificates to the top three winners of the art competition that was held alongside the arts and crafts program.

Even though the day’s program revolved around arts and crafts, HNB Finance also created awareness on the importance of saving, budgeting and the value of being economical.
