Webinar on ‘Entrepreneurship Successes and Lessons for Innovators’ today

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and the Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka jointly will be hosting a virtual webinar on ‘Entrepreneurship  Successes and Lessons for Innovators, Job Creators, Startups and Small Business Growth’ creators on Monday, 16 November from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. via online zoom platform. 

It is conducted by the CMA Sri Lanka COVID 19 SME Development Committee to promote entrepreneurship and bring together innovators, small business and job creation.  

The objective of the webinar is to mark the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). It’s the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. 

During this week in November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them take the next step in their entrepreneurial journey. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors — introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.

The welcome address will be delivered by Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, Founder President, CMA Sri Lanka and CPM Sri Lanka, and Coordinator CMA Sri Lanka COVID-19 SME Development Committee. The eminent entrepreneurs Ramya Weerakoon, President, National Chamber of Exporters and Chairperson, Ramya Holdings, Suranga Herath, CEO, English Tea Shop, Jiffry Zulfer, Founder CEO, PickMe and Achala Samaradiwakara, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Good Market will share their experience. 

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion which will be moderated by Dr. Nirmal de Silva, Co-Founder/CEO Paramount Realty and Founder of TYNA Consulting. The eminent panelists are Asoka Hettigoda, Managing Director, Hettigoda Industries Ltd./Past Chairman, National Chamber of Commerce, Samadanie Kiriwandeniya, Chairperson Sanasa International and former Chairperson Sanasa Development Bank (SDB), Suresh De Mel, Board Director, Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce and Acting Managing Director, Global Entrepreneur Network Sri Lanka, Dr. Kulatunga Rajapaksa, Emeritus Chairman, DSI Samson Group, Harsha Purasinghe, Director/CEO, MiHCM (Microimage and WSO2 Mobile) and Dulith Herath, Director, Kapruka.
