Vajira joins Printacre Board

Top professional Vajira Kulatilaka has been appointed to the Board of Princtae Ceylon Plc as a Non-Executive Independent Director.

Kulatilaka counts over 35 years of experience in Finance and Capital Market operations in Sri Lanka. He holds a BSc. in Civil Engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Moratuwa, and a MSc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. He is also a Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) and has obtained Fellow Membership of the Charted Institute of Management Accountants, UK. Kulatilaka served as the Director/CEO of the NDB Investment Banking Cluster, where he was adjudged the Best Investment Banking CEO of Sri Lanka in 2014 and 2015 by Global Banking and Finance Review in recognition of his contribution to the investment banking field in Sri Lanka. 

He has advised the CEOs and Boards of many leading companies on important strategic transactions, corporate strategy and organisational structure.

Kulatilaka has extended experience in Private Equity having setup the Private Equity management business of NDB Capital, in partnership with Zephyr Management LP, resulting in the floatation of the $ 42.5 million Emerald Sri Lanka Fund 1, Sri Lanka’s pioneering and largest country dedicated Private Equity Fund to date. The fund has so far invested companies in construction, tourism, IT, renewable energy and food and beverages sectors. He has extensive corporate advisory experience, especially in Initial Public Offerings, mergers, and acquisitions, and has guided many deal teams successfully to complete large acquisitions that have helped grow shareholder value including the largest acquisition in the Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical sector. He has also led teams to carry out some of the largest IPOs both in Sri Lanka and Maldives.

Kulatilaka was instrumental in forming the investment banking operations of NDB Group in Bangladesh via an acquisition, and guided the team to develop its core business in the local capital market whilst facilitating the entry of Sri Lankan corporates into the market. He also served as the Chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange from 2014 to 2017.

With the latest appointment the Board of Directors of Printcare Plc comprises of M.J. Fernando (Chairman), A.N. Esufally, E. Chatoor, D. Warnakulasooriya, K.R. Ravindran, A. Coomaraswamy, Rajabather Ravindran K (alternate to K.R. Ravidran) and C.V. Kulatilaka.
