Slovenia congratulates new President, Prime Minister

The President of the Republic Slovenia and the Prime Minister have respectively congratulated new President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The respective congratulatory letters of Slovenia were released by its Honorary Consul General in Sri Lanka Sanath Ukwatte.

Following is the letter from Slovenia President Borut Pahor to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa:

“Please allow me to extend to you heartfelt congratulations on your election as President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and to wish you every success in the discharge of your responsible duties. 

“May I take this opportunity to express my sincere wish that in the coming years, the traditionally friendly bilateral ties and cooperation between our two countries will further develop and strengthen in the spirit of mutual understanding, cooperation and continuous progress. Please accept, your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”

Following is the letter from Slovenia Prime Minister Marjan Šarec to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa:

“On the occasion of your appointment as Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, please allow me to extend to you sincere congratulations on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and in my own name, to wish you every success in the discharge of this responsible duty.

“Slovenia values the friendly relations with Sri Lanka and I am convinced that the cooperation between our two countries will be further development in the spirit of mutual respect, understanding and constructive cooperation. Please accept Dear Prime Minister, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
