The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), the nation’s management mentor, was recently awarded a special commendation in the Service Sector (Small Category) at the National Productivity Awards organised by the National Productivity Secretariat (NPS).

After becoming the first higher education entity of the State sector to obtain the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 certification, PIM has initiated a focus on value added productivity per employee enhancement as a model for other State institutions to follow.

The PIM community is keen to serve the nation by producing leaders with global reach and a local pulse in line with its vision of becoming a centre of management excellence in South Asia. ‘Value-Added Productivity per Employee’ is an indicator that measures the ‘value-added’ per employee and is an outstanding measure of the extent to which an organisation utilises its employee’s strengths and productivity. The PIM year-on-year contribution in productivity per employee is a significant and worthwhile practice for others to explore.
