In a bid to spread awareness about the importance of saving energy and the use of LED bulbs, Orange LED recently carried out a special promotion by directly engaging with consumers across the country.

As part of the promotion, Orange LED selected 10 winners from a raffle draw and rewarded them with Orange LED bulbs to fulfil their entire household requirement of LED bulbs. The promotion, which started early this July, extended over a period of a month covering 30 major cities around the country.

“As a leading and innovative player in the electrical industry, Orange has not been confined to the development and manufacturing of products. At a time when the energy crisis is badly affecting the country, we thought it was important to create more awareness about the usage of LED bulbs by engaging directly with the people. The promotion covered the entire island and we were able to successfully reach out to approximately 50,000 citizens. We are glad to have imparted knowledge on energy saving through the usage of LED bulbs, and also to have lit up 10 houses of the lucky winners of the raffle draw,” said Orange Electric Chief Operating Officer Sanath Wijethunge, commenting on the promotion.

The ‘LEDnam Orange Thamai’ promotion had been designed with attractive elements to effectively engage with consumers and as a result the promotion was met with a warm response throughout the island. The mobile truck with a variety of fun games, promoters, raffle draws, DJs and music added much colour to the event. Dealers in each of the 30 towns gave special discounts on the day of the promotion and customers who made use of the discount and presented their bill to the promotions team were selected for the raffle draw. Winners of the raffle draws were rewarded with gift items such as Orange branded T-Shirts, Orange LED bulbs, caps, umbrellas and key tags, etc.

The final 10 winners, selected by a grand draw at the end of the promotion, were Kosala Jayawardana, M.M.K. Fernando, A.N.M. Nifras, G.M.G. Aponsu, Thenuli Abinadi, H.H. Wenuka Kithwal, S. Wijewardana, A.G.C. Devika, Samantha Wickkramarathna and Sumudu Priyantha.
