OPA’s 30th Annual Conference kicks off on Thursday

The Annual Conference of the OPA is scheduled to take place for the 30th consecutive year. The inaugural ceremony of the 30th Annual Conference will be held on 28 September at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel, Colombo, 5:30 p.m. onwards.

This year’s theme is ‘Strategic Imperatives for Economic Growth’ which is of great relevance to the country in the present context.

Each year the conference has an objective which focuses on a theme that is important to professionals as well as the country.

The technical sessions will be held on 29 September at the same venue.

Many intellectuals and senior professionals both locally and internationally will attend these technical session followed by a panel discussion.

The proceedings of the annual conference will be published and made available to members as well as the general public. The outcome of the technical sessions will be submitted to the Government of Sri Lanka for its consideration.

The President of the OPA will give the welcome address. The President-Elect will introduce the 30th Annual Conference on the theme ‘Strategic Imperatives for Economic Growth’. Thereafter, Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy, Governor of the Central Bank, the Chief Guest, will address the gathering. Dr. Adil Malia, Chief Executive and Managing Partner, the FiRM, Mumbai, India, will deliver the keynote address.

The conference will commence at 8:30 a.m. with the welcome address by Lalith Wijetunge, President-Elect of the OPA.
