NCCSL brainchild ‘fromSriLanka.com’ unveiled in collaboration with EY

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) recently launched ‘fromSriLanka.com’, a platform aimed at supporting Sri Lankan companies to promote their products and services into the Global Market space. 

The platform was launched under the patronage of Central Bank Governor Prof. W.D. Lakshman during the Annual General Meeting of NCCSL held at the Kingsbury, Colombo.  

“There are many of our local businesses longing for support to reach true potential. It is our mandate at National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka to facilitate Economic Partnerships and our ‘fromSriLanka.com’ B2B ecommerce platform will focus on supporting Sri Lanka’s SMEs who aspire international expansion,” stated NCCSL President Asela de Livera during his speech. De Livera then extended an invitation to the membership of NCCSL to exploit the services offered through the dais.

EY was instrumental in the overall execution of this national platform development. The EY’s global methodologies and knowledge combined with local expertise had enabled the timely delivery despite the many challenges.

EY Sri Lanka and Maldives Partner Advisory Leader Arjuna Herath at an interview commented: “The SME Sector contributes to over 52% of the country’s GDP. EY has been instrumental during recent past to help regulators and donor agencies to draw in strategic initiatives to support the SME sector growth. We are very proud to have supported NCCSL to develop and launch this platform.” 

“Building the platform of ‘fromSriLanka.com’ was initiated just three months ago, a challenge accepted and well executed by the team. Our strenuous journey has reached its milestone today and it would not have been possible without the expert services rendered by EY Sri Lanka and the team,” said Chamika Godamanna who headed the initiative at NCCSL. 

Built on Oracle NetSuite, a cloud-based ERP solution that delivers an intelligent, integrated and scalable applications, this is a first of its kind. ‘fromSriLanka.com’ will be Sri Lanka’s very own online National platform to connect Sri Lankan suppliers and our unique products with the rest of the world promoting SME reach in to the international market place. 

EY Engagement Director Shanaka De Silva expressed that the second phase development initiative is expected to be completed by May and EY will continue services through its Project Management Office during the phrase for the development and the implementation of the system.
