Media marketing veteran back to ITN

Independent Television Network Deputy  General  Manager (Marketing) Upali Ranjith, who was prematurely retired by the previous Government on allegations of biased telecasting of election ads carried at Presidential Elections in 2015, has been reinstated in service in keeping with agreement reached at Labour Tribunal which inquired into the complaint filed by him.

Ranjith is due to assume duties again as Deputy General Manager in ITN effective from today.

During his previous tenure of 36th years in ITN, he served as DGM (Marketing) for 10 years making the ITN the Market Leader in Media Marketing.

Considered as a pioneer in ITN, the first TV Channel in Sri Lanka, he had his capacity building and skill development in many European countries in addition to Malaysia and Japan.

Being a Media Marketing Veteran he holds Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing (PGDip) awarded by Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and Practicing Marketer status conferred by SLIM.

In recognition of his successful career in Marketing, he has been granted membership of Asia Marketing Federation.

Ranjith has offered his services to SLIM as an Ex-Committee member in years 2017/2018, 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 and as panellist in the jury for SLIM-NASCO awards.
